Jennifer Rosales is arguably the most successful female sportsperson from the Philippines. Having won two titles on the US LPGA Tour and the Women’s World Cup of Golf, she has become one of the stars of the women’s game.

In 2004, she became the first Filipino to win on the US LPGA Tour when she triumphed in the Chick-fil-A Charity Championship. It was a breakthrough performance that served only to inspire her – the following year she claimed the SBS Open in Hawaii.

In 2008, she added another feather to her cap when she was victorious in the Women’s World Cup alongside Dorothy Delasin. The pair had finished second in the inaugural event in 2005.

Rosales is the sister of top Filipino golfer Gerald – whom she caddied for when he won the Philippine Open in 2000.

She enjoyed an outstanding amateur career before hitting the big time on the US LPGA Tour, winning the Philippine Ladies Amateur Golf Championship five times consecutively from 1994 to 1998.

After that Rosales played collegiate golf at the University of Southern California, winning the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Collegiate Invitational as well as the 1998 NCAA Championship as a freshman. She was named First-Team All-American for 1998-1999.

Rosales gained exempt status for the 2000 US LPGA Tour season by finishing tied seventh at Qualifying School.
